My dashcam is 5 months old, 128 GB, Blackvue SD card, v1.006, recording in Extreme mode.

On 5/23 I couldn't access via WiFi and got the failed to connect to WiFi error when trying to load the videos list. I had to unplug and replug the camera to restore functionality.

On 5/31 the same symptoms happened. I repeated the resolution but this time it reinitialized the SD card. Functionality was restored but I forcefully reformatted the SD card again.

This doesn't seem normal. Thoughts?

I just saw the Blackvue recommends getting a new SD every 6 months and to format it once a month.

Thoughts on this?

Isn't it one of the issues of last 1.006 firmware release?

Not sure. Is it? I did just purchased a Samsung 128 pro endurance with a supposed 5 year lifespan... just in case

Check your firmware version.
1. 006 has some wifi and cloud connectivity issues

I don't use cloud but would there wifi issues prevent it from recording?

I don't know exactly, I'm still on 1.005

My 650S will die on hot days, if I'm parked in the sun for long periods of time. As we're getting into summer, I expect to hear a lot more complaints about heat-related crashes. Is that possibly a factor in your case?

Possibly. I park outside at work in Texas heat, but under a covered car park
