I'm having trouble finding an answer and I'm not sure if it's because there's too much information or I just can't seem to find the right search terms. Assuming the USB port is 5v, can the mobius be powered (and record) via a straight USB port in a car?

I ask because my 12V "cigarette lighter" power source is always on, but the USB ports go on and off with the car.

Thanks!

Some Car/PC USB ports only output 500mA and most DashCam are best used with 1A. I'm not sure möbius is stable under 1A or not.

As long as the USB port is rated at 1A (sometimes written as 1000mA) then all should be fine. Many USP ports will do this, but the industry minimum standard is only half this, so it is something you need to verify for each item yourself before relying on it to supply enough current.

Thanks all. :) looks like I'm at .5a so I'll need to figure something else out.
