4K dash cam hey, wonder how good they are.

Loading a video is one thing, but adding them to the playlist should not take minutes for 10 video clips.

I also have a moderate processor but the load time on Nextbase is very long ( and my windows version makes dashcam viewer unusable with black screen )

I agree with @TNT; Next Base player is processor intensive. It took about 4 minutes to load 10 videos and about 40% CPU while playing a video. I wouldn't call my laptop high spec, but it isn't a slouch either. I haven't had an issue with any other video players.

The player is slick but it doesn't seem to recognise the 2nd channel/play PIP.

BTW, Dashcam Viewer only has PiP for MAC...not Windows.

Good news:

"For the past few months I've focused my spare development time on reworking the low level video code in Dashcam Viewer to improve video playback performance, unify the Mac/Windows code base, and "future proof" the program in general. One goal is to bring the two versions into feature parity so PiP will work in both Mac and Windows. Currently this version is in the alpha stages, but I'm already seeing major improvements in 4K video playback performance on the Mac due to the updated video library (dashcams don't produce 4K yet, but UAV cams are already there). The refactoring effort stretches beyond just the video library. Other portions of the program are being updated to take advantage of newer APIs. Needless to say this will all take some time, but the result will be better performance and maintainability."

I just installed "Nextbase Replay 3".
It works very well. It's nice to have a few options to review our DC footage!

Upon start, it places all the windows within the screen (DC Viewer didn't).
Loading a 600 MB file only takes about 5 seconds on an i5 Lenova PC.

question about dashcam viewer.. is there a way to get all the different windows to be just docked as one like how it was in registrator viewer? i looked through the options, but i didn't see anything.

DashCamViewer Beta Version Coming soon:
(Major Overhaul)

Although I haven't posted to this thread recently, rest assured I've been busy with improvements requested by users. I plan to have a beta of Dashcam Viewer 3 available soon, which will have a host of internal improvements. These include 2-channel Picture-in-Picture for Windows users (finally!) and better video playback performance utilizing a different video backend (both Windows and Mac). Also, the Google Maps "missing route" bug in the Mac version is addressed in the beta. Plan to have it available this month.
