DCPro+ power cable

I will be renting a car soon while mine is in for repairs and I would like to take my dash cam with me to use in the rental (I'll only take the front cam) . I currently have the power cable tucked into the trim and would rater not take it all out. My question is, is there a shorter cable that I can purchase to use in the rental, should I purchase the full size replacement cable in case I need a longer run, or should I just pull the wiring and bring it with me to use until my car is back in service? Thoughts?

I would get our proven reliable SG9CCM90 standard cig power adapter. There are too many Inferior generic options on Amazon etc.

That makes sense. Thanks! I'll see how burred my wires are before I buy a whole new one but if it's too tucked away I'll pick-up a replacement
