What do you mean by zoom? Is there a zoom function? It can only be a digital zoom then which does nit make any sense, as the video quality will get worse. Or do you mean the difference between 720p and 1080p? Because depending on the resolution the view of the cam seems to be different in distance.

Thanks for the reply. On the 300wplus user manual the up and down buttons are also shown as zoom in/out, yes it is a digital zoom. The reason I mentioned this there was an accident a bit far couldn't catch the license plate ! It may me wonder whether there was a zoom function ? Thanks

I am assuming, that you can use it to zoom in a picture which you have taken with the dash-cam and are viewing on the display. I doubt that you can use the zoom for the video mode (no matter if viewing or recording).
