Hi, i've recently purchased and fitted a 2CH 650S and having issues with it restarting regularly. I'm using a 64gb delkin card in there which came as part of the package and running the latest firmware 1.002. Blackvue have advised that it's the card however it's only a couple of weeks old and after a format last night it restarted again after 10mins. Is anyone else having these issues? I think I am going to turn parking mode off and then see how often it restarts on continuous recording, as I don't use the car often enough to be able to know how often it's happening

Have you tried it without the rear camera connected? I had a similar issue with a different 2 CH brand. Without the rear camera connected it was perfect but when i connected the rear camera it would randomly restart and often freeze when coming out of parking mode into regular recording. I have replaced the rear camera and, "knock on wood", everything seems to be working ok for the last 4-5 days.

hi, not tried without the rear camera connected but looks like it's related to the SD card - swapping back to the 16GB that came with it has fixed the problem so need to talk to them about their supplied 64gb card..

hi, thanks - checked that and already running the Delkin card which they recommend (and was supplied by the authorised dealer as well).
I've checked the log files on teh device and it gets and error SIGSEGV - Reboot so something is causing this exception

Hi fastyan,

I've been using a Delkin 375X 64GB card for the past year, and regularly swap it with the 16GB Blackvue card, without any issues. Have you tried formatting the Delkin card in the camera?

Regards

John

no not tried formatting in the camera yet - it was ok yesterday but then this morning has lasted about 20mins before restarting. Blackvue have confirmed the issue is with the SD card so seeing what the supplier says

The BV factory wrote special code into their original SD card for security purposes.

Can you elaborate further on this? Basically this is what pop up in my mind since the I updated the firmware (Ver. 1.011). Is there any code can detect non BV Sd Card? If BV is doing this, then what choice we have beside BV SD Card?

Thanks

P/S: This happens to all 650GW series and DR750 too.

since my supplier swapped my delkin 660x u1 card for a 660x u3 card i've not had a single restart since

How long you had been using the U3 card now?

Please keep us posted. Thanks

You can use different capacity memory card of BV. Any other brand cards will not work. Yes it is quit annoying but I guess it is on security purpose.

Thank you for your response. indeed it is very annoying .

Thanks

Guys,
I do have problems with my BlackVue 650S - it is restarting as well, might be happening only during drive / move - not sure yet. Camera says "BlackVue is restarting" and reboot itself.
I'm using so far Kingston Micro SDXC 64GB Class 10 UHS-I (SDC10G2/64GB) - http://www.kingston.com/us/flash/microsd_cards#sdc10g2 - should be fine according to the http://blackvueshop.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=721.
First I formatted it directly in BlackVue camera, then using BlackVue application.

Any ideas ? I don't have original SD card from Blackvue with me unfortunately to test if SD card is a issue but it should not be the case, or ?

When I checked the logs, I see following :

Thank you.

Hmmm.... seems I'm not alone - https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/dr650s-2ch-restarting-after-leaving-garage.21218/

Hi Sharkys

The cards that you've looked at in the previous forums and tests were mainly for the older 650 models. As previously stated, I've been using the Delkin card for nearly 2 years, on the 650GW with firmware V1.009, without any problems.

I think you'll need to go to either the Blackvue or one of the High Endurance cards for your model.

Good luck

John

@JohnM thank you still even the previous tests should be still valid despite it seems those dashcams are picky... anyway, I disconnected rear camera and so far based on short test it is fine. I doesn't mean the SD card is not guilty but let's see. Next tests will be probably using another card then using original card and then with and without rear camera. But I'm suspicious on the faulty rear camera.

Like i said above. I replaced my rear camera and everything has been working fine since (knock on wood).
