After about ten years my Blackvue Dashcam DR650S-2CH broke, a few weeks ago I wanted to check a video from the dashcam and to my surprise I only saw rainbow videos, after formatting the SDcard it did look better but after a while the videos where completely black while the rear dashcam still was recording video so the dashcam was still working.
The RTC battery had died years ago but that did not affect the video.
So I disassembled the Dashcam to see what was going on.
One of the Super Caps was bulging and probably leaking. I removed them from the circuit board, cleaned all the circuit boards with IPA and then reassembled the dahcam and tried it.
The front camera works again.
Ordered a new RTC battery and Super Caps, if I have them I can use the Dashcam again.
