DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus Now Available

The latest entry in the BlackVue lineup of dash cams with built-in LTE connectivity comes with an infrared external rear camera designed for trucks and heavy vehicles.
The BlackVue DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus has the same front camera as the DR750X-2CH LTE Plus and the DR750X-2CH IR LTE Plus that came before it. This means it has the same upgraded STARVIS™ CMOS sensor and built-in LTE connectivity thanks to the integrated nano SIM card reader.
The main difference comes in the form of the rear camera. It is a rugged waterproof externally mounted camera with infrared LEDs that illuminate the road behind as well as cargo loading-unloading activities.
The front and rear cameras connect via a 15-meter (49 ft) waterproof coaxial cable.

Enabling Parking Mode

DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus requires a hardwiring kit like the Power Magic Pro or a Parking Mode battery like the B-124X or B-112. We highly recommend enabling Parking Mode since it synergizes perfectly with BlackVue Cloud for features like Impact Push Notifications or Live Event Upload.

A model designed for the Cloud

The DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus integrates 4G LTE connectivity. This means you do not need a BlackVue LTE Connectivity Module (CM100LTE) or a third-party hotspot to connect to BlackVue Cloud. All you need is a compatible 4G LTE data SIM card.
Like every other BlackVue X Plus models, the DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus supports Seamless Pairing, which makes it a breeze to set up your dash cam with the BlackVue App. The ease of setup extends to pairing your BlackVue with BlackVue Cloud as well, as the camera registration process is also seamless. Note that while it makes sense to use a data SIM card with this dash cam, you can still connect it to a Wi-Fi hotspot if desired. DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus, however, does not support the CM100LTE.
Once connected, you will be able to enjoy all the Cloud features BlackVue has to offer.

For businesses with a fleet

With DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus and a service like BlackVue Fleet Tracking, you could easily monitor your whole fleet using only dash cams. No need for any additional equipment such as GPS trackers or even mobile Internet hotspots. And in case of crash or accident of any kind, you can see for yourself what happened and download the corresponding video remotely on your mobile. Having video recording, GPS tracking and more integrated into a single device also means more simplicity of installation and operation.

For individual users

Have you ever worried about your vehicle when you leave it for valet parking or when you bring it to a shop or dealership? Do you sometimes let others (friends, spouse or family member) drive your vehicle? Do you sometimes park your vehicle outside of a private parking lot (sorry for the quasi-rhetorical question)? Those are arguably common examples, and they can all potentially make you anxious to varying degrees. If you are interested in equipping your ride with a BlackVue, we assume that you care about your vehicle more than the average motorist.
When combined with Parking Mode, BlackVue Cloud and the BlackVue app can help you manage your car-related anxiety in many ways:
  • Remote Live View lets you check the view from either camera in real-time from anywhere, anytime.
  • Push notifications when an impact to your parked vehicle is detected by the dashcam. Simply knowing that you’ll be alerted the moment something happens can go a long way.
  • Live Event Upload is the ultimate security feature when paired with Parking Mode, as it saves footage in real time to the Cloud, so you get video proof even if the camera gets disconnected halfway through a recording.
  • Remote playback: browse the videos stored on your dashcam’s local microSD card and save the important ones on your phone or in the cloud.
  • Mobile Hotspot Function: you can turn your BlackVue into a hotspot for up to 5 other devices (aside from BlackVue dash cams).

BlackVue SIM Card

The BlackVue SIM Card is bundled with the North America (NA) version of the DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus. Check the BlackVue SIM Card page for the most up-to-date info about supported models.
All DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus (NA) models should include a BlackVue SIM card at launch.

Important! Which version to pick?

Which version will work for you depends mostly on the LTE frequency bands supported by your local carrier(s).
NOTE: DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus is available in NA (North America) and GL (Global) versions at the moment.
USA, Canada: pick the NA version.
South America: NA preferably, with GL being usable in some countries.
Rest of the world: pick the GL version.
Note: specific Japan version not available.

Use the LTE frequency band info to pick a model that runs on your carrier’s LTE network.
The reason we share the bands information (B1, B2, etc.) is to let you double-check that the model you plan to get will work on your carrier’s network.
With a bit of research, you can find which bands are covered by your local carriers and get a Nano SIM from a carrier that operates on the bands supported by your DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus model.
To recap, here is what you should consider to pick your DR750X-2CH TRUCK LTE Plus:
  • Is my mobile network carrier operating on a band (B1, B2, etc.) supported by the dashcam?
  • Does a carrier offer more affordable data plans?
  • Is there another network carrier in my country operating on those bands.
  • Am I planning to drive my car abroad? (In that case, consider a model that might cover multiple countries). Check this site for LTE band coverage data or this document we compiled.

Any prospective users of this dashcam need to be aware of the defective rear-dashcam that is present in nearly all models of newer Blackvue dashcams. The front and rear dashcams of these current/new Blackvue dashcams have the Starvis sensors (IMX 327). The models include the DR900x-2 Ch Plus, DR750x 2Ch Plus, DR750x-2ch LTE Plus, DR750x 3Ch Plus, AND the model they just announced, the DR750x-2Ch Truck LTE Plus.

The problem is that many of the rear-dashcams of all of the above models are producing videos that are much darker than the front dashcams which are set at the proper video exposure, and therefore producing clear front videos.

Although Pittasoft/Blackvue has been aware of this problem for a number of months, they are no further along in resolving the problem. Their main focus appears to be on creating "more sales". Meanwhile unsuspecting new users are facing this problem - -"The rear dashcam video is not as clear as it should be."

Blackvue/Pittasoft has not come out with any revised firmware to correct the problem, so the thought with Blackvue/Pittasoft is it must be a hardware issue. So, new users with defective rear dashcams will be forced to wait Lord knows how long to get a replacement rear-dashcam. It would be nice if Blackvue disclosed this problem that is facing "all of the dashcam models" listed above.

There is a fantastic dashcam reviewer @rcg530 who has clearly pointed out the above-referenced problem on this forum. Below is one such thread where he shows the exact problem that many new Blackvue dashcam users are facing... it's definitely worth reading.

And btw it would sure be nice to hear directly from Pittasoft/Blackvue in this thread exactly what they plan on doing to fix this problem that they have known about for months.
