Not real graphic, but you do see him flying through the air.
His car broke down on the elevated highway, he was stopped, (Not sure if on the shoulder or or in traffic lane?) Flashers on, and looking under the hood when his car was struck by two vehicles.

I'm not sure he would have survived the first two impacts, but he was run over again after landing on the pavement.

damn i so want to click that link :) sound like that guy was having a really bad day.

Terrible. Whenever I see someone broken down on a fast road I always try to move over a lane as fast as possible to give a compete lane of clearance, or at least move as far away in my lane as I can so people behind me can see the breakdown sooner. I bet that as well as the two cars that hit him, there were people ahead who moved over as little as possible, as late as possible and they are more to blame than the cars who hit him.

RIP.

Terrible, I had a good friend in high school that stopped to help a person with a flat tire, car hit him, he died!

Thats just sad Lola.

In today's world i would not dare to get out of my car if there was any traffic / heavy trafic around, and if there was i would go way off the side of the road.
With all the weaving phone junkies around it is simply too dangerous.
I am even a little apprehensive about putting the warning triangle out behind as you must do ( 1000 DKkr fine if you dont ) but at least then you are walking out back facing the traffic and so have the option to take care of yourself by being your own lookout, the problem come when you walk back to your car.

I used to be more trusting that people would act safely if I had to do something in an exposed place. Partly because things used to be better, but mostly I think I was too naive.

What is painfully obvious to me these days is that many people have no hazard perception at all. They can't even keep themselves safe, so expecting them to keep you safe is delusional. Always assume the worst and mitigate the danger.

I see it almost every day. I'll see something ahead I need to move over a lane for safety...and the cars behind me whip into the space I just vacated without even looking a few feet head of the end of their car. It could be some debris in the road, a cop or disabled vehicle, an animal...a wreck. They don't think.....they just jerk the wheel and floor the pedal.

Here's one from yesterday, rural two lane highway, with passing lanes every few miles. In this situation the right lane ends, and there are plenty of 'right lane ends' signs, arrows, etc. I could guess that van was going to squeeze by, but the smaller car was VERY far back, but figured it was entitled to pass the truck...no matter what.

They need to be yanking licenses, and some mandatory jail time when reckless driving causes injury.

I'm becoming more inclined to driverless cars, no matter how bad they are. They have to be better than the drivers we have now.

I like everything you said but the driver less cars! Keep in mind that it's the modern idiot drivers that are probably developing them. Then to make matters worse they are debugging them on the road in actual driving, what freaking idiot OK'd that!!!! I'll believe in them when they have a year of no problems!

I only think driverless cars will work in the near future if they are limited in speed to 20-25 mph or so.
(But don't repeat that to the techno-nutz.)
realistically there is no way to develop them unless you do it on public roads, under real world conditions.
The 'attendant' can't be looking at porn or playing candy crush, though.

Yes. but driver less car code, have to comply with all and any traffic code, in they did not they could not be allowed to drive.
And unless AI are too human it will not alter the code, but humans do we change code whenever it suit us.
I also do this, but far from as often as i use to do it.

Agreed - More license cancellations !
Let them start again , road rules test - Learners permit - driving test - probationary license

I wonder how long it will be before they get their own cell phone!

My sat nav uses a mobile phone connection to get / share live traffic information, and sometimes it does seem to suffer lag, maybe while it's trying to make a connection.

So your comment isn't so far fetched! If driverless cars aren't already on the Internet, they eventually will be. How long before a crash is blamed on a laggy connection?

If driver-less cars have a internet connection, then they better come up with some way of securing those cars, or something so scary hackers will never dare to do it.
And hackers are not really driven by smarts as such, so it will take something strong that will eventually work after a few examples have been set.

It's the drones that really worry me, if/when terrorists start using them it will be a whole new ballgame, just think about it. They need to control people who own/use them, at least make them register it (if not already) like they do guns, and yes I do own guns.

I know there are people here who use drones as recreational activities, and I have no problem with that whatsoever, however I'm sure they have thought of what terrorists could do with them. To me it's a safety precaution, before it becomes reality problem!

They already use drones to smuggle drugs across the border, contraband into prisons, etc. The nastier, deadlier stuff isn't far away, using off the shelf parts. :(
The people who act the most irresponsibly will be complaining the loudest, except they are generally in violation of the few current laws already.

It's a good thought, but actual regulation like the gun industry would be next to impossible. The factories that produce guns are typically regulated as are the retail environments where they're sold. Small drones are cheap and easy to manufacture with off the shelf parts and open source software. To effectively regulate them, you'd have to cut off the supply of many if not all RC parts and remote controls. Others have also imagined such scenarios, ie 80's movie showing RC car packed with explosives and remote vision driven to a destination and then detonated. There were no open wifi hotspots back then, now you could practically do this from across the city if not the world.

I hadn't thought of drugs and such, good point. If this is the case (making them), it's just a matter of time before they are banned, sorry to say for legitimate owners, it's a sign of the times we live in, better find another recreation before the poo hits the fan. Just pray it's not another 9/11!!!!!!!

Remotely controlled weapons have long been a issue, but the general public never really caught up before now.

And it is indeed a problem with the greater automation now so really any stupid SOB can do it if they want to, chemicals also have become more problematic as with the advent of the internet information are much more easy to find.
I knew what nasty i could make out of the castor bean before the internet due to me reading unusual books and magazines when i was young, today i can find the same information with 6 - 7 clicks of my keyboard.

The explosive packed RC car was used in the biker war here in the 90ties, and since it was military grade explosives it could not be made much stronger / powerful, there is a vast difference between a little slow anfo and a much faster plastic explosive.
This dont really bother me much, but i do acknowledge the problem have become bigger, and our societies dont do much to judge the people going down that road, and i dont acknowledge mass surveillance as a weapon against such people, while they do claim it work great, due to the clandestine and secrecy of these undertakings i can in no way trust what they claim.

Some American states are lucky they have the death penalty, and it is nice the victim family can come and see justice being made, but i never understood why criminals was never forced to go see a "hanging"
Actually i dont understand why such events are no longer in public in our societies, i can assure you the criminal things i did when i was young and dumb, i am pretty sure if there had been a chance of me getting a hand axed off or my head for that matter, well then i would never have had a criminal career back then.

I have enough fears and issues from my childhood, so also fearing some religious nutcase or just plain old sick in the brain person, well that i can not be bothered with.

Banning RC toys or hobby grade toys will not change anything, that to me would be like saying 357 cal are now outlawed but 9 mm and 10 mm and all the others are still fine.

We the people should fear nothing, and the people we vote for, they should fear us.
