dual cam 1080p front cam footage

Yes 1080p is better.
Try having a look at Blender Video editing there are some picture in picture how to's on you tube, Free and Easy to use.
 
Having watched the footage more closely I agree 1080p is better. Manybthanks for the tips on video in video editing matey :)
