Sometimes I use the GIT3 has a dual dash cam, I like the enhanced features that come with an action camera (image stabilization, image quality adjustments, variety of mounting options, etc.) that are not available in most dash cameras.

The issue is that the cable is it too short.

I need to extend it (without cutting it) another 2-3ft (about 1meter?).

I don't think I'm skilled enough to make one on my own and I would like to find some pre-made 10-pin USB MINI cabling/connectors to extend this cable.

Any thoughts, idea, websites would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It needs to be video cable, a standard extension cable will not work.

One possibility might be to replace the cable by a Viofo A129 cable which I suspect would work, but that is not a plug and play solution: https://www.viofo.com/accessories/9...a129-duo-dash-camera.html#/33-cable_length-8m

Another possibility is to use a mini 0906 rear camera which can be bought at reasonable cost with 6 meter cable, eg: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282854235787,
I assume that is compatible, it was when I tested it but that was a different camera to the current version.

A Viofo A129 rear camera would be nice, but I suspect that is not compatible since it uses a different sensor, not sure though, and it is also significantly more expensive with the cable extra: https://www.viofo.com/home/86-a129-rear-camera-with-sony-starvis-image-sensor.html

Nigel, thanks for your response, I plan to try the Viofo cable, it's not too expensive and worth a chance.

All the best.

Let us know how you get on...

The Viofo A129 rear camera does not appear to be compatible, I tried it and it switched to 1080+1080 mode so recognised that there was a rear camera but got stuck with an orange Gitup screen and some beeping, presumably because of the wrong sensor, however the cable fits perfectly.

Hello everyone,

I'm still working on a solution to extend this dual cam cable. Please see attached photo. I've acquired a couple of 10-pin mini USBs breadboards, male and female with hopes of manually cross-connecting the necessary pins with wire jumpers.

Is this possible, I can't tell from the diagram what pins should be cross-connected where?

Thanks,

Maybe is possible to cut the original cable and extending it with another piece of cable from VIOFO A129 Duo rear cable? @gitup ?
