Hi, just found this forum/site, lots of good info here. Very grateful to the community and admin team.

I'm an owner of a DVR-027/H.264 720P Car DVR for over 12 months (great entry-level cam, bought from DealExtreme), and want to upgrade.

Found this site, and was wondering what the community thinks about it:

More specifically, has anyone purchased a dash cam from this supplier yet?

I originally found them via their youtube videos/channel:

They link to aliexpress and ebay in the info section of some of their videos, so I assume they have accounts on them:

It appears the prices of the products on their aliexpress account are better than their website (if they match).

Using a GS1000 as comparison, their products seem to be cheaper than the other sellers listed on this site:

Hi vanxkx,

The GS1000 from EBDeal is the cheaper blue menu version not the orange menu ones that you have linked above. EBDeal is a few dollars more expensive than other Aliexpress vendors:

GS1000 Blue Menu on Aliexpress for $84.78 over 400 sold in the last 6 months.

Another GS1000 blue menu on Aliexpress for $84.78 approx 300 sold in the last 6 months.

I don't know how reputable EBDeal is as a vendor. But as you can see, there are other vendors who have sold many more units of the GS1000 blue menu camera with positive feedback. They are a safer bet.

Thanks Dash Cam Man for the confirmation.

After reviewing further after I made the post, I also came to a similar conclusion.

What's confusing is the link in the info section of their "GS1000 Orange menu" youtube video directed itself to the GS1000 I mentioned above which is very safely assuming to be the blue version you have also come to a conclusion on:



Maybe it's a sign of shady dealing?

I don't know, however I did write a comment on both videos about confirming the orange menu on their product page since it is nonexistent. It has to be approved first, and if it doesn't ever show up (the comment or the updated product page), I guess we have our answer.

In any case, I find myself looking more toward the F500LHD, or the Itronics ITB-100HD for the better night driving recordings.

Thanks for posting those youtube links. The first video has the date/time and speed in the same locations as the blue menu camera. I think the Chinese manufacturers are getting more savvy with their fakes and have changed the menu color from blue to orange! I will need to update the main page to warn everyone. Really the only way to purchase the better quality cameras is to know what firmware the camera comes with and perhaps just purchase from vendors who are reputable. I have set up a vendors section now where we can provide feedback on different vendors. I will put some details on some of the vendors that I am aware of. Hopefully others can provide feedback as well.

Another member Bork, bought a GS2000 from 4coolday. As you can see he is disappointed with the video quality and it appears to be a "blue menu" camera.

I have updated the main GS1000 page to warn others. I would be very cautious purchasing from this vendor.

Are you going to return the camera to 4coolday? They seem happy for it to be returned but I'm not sure if it's worth the postage costs / waste of time over just ebaying the camera myself as a blue menu one and losing a little bit of money.

I too am thinking of the Itronics cam for the night vision quality.

Hi Bork,

Fortunately for me, I did not order from 4coolday/EBDeal.com. I bought a GS1000 from EPrance on AliExpress instead - as a gift and shipped to the inlaws many km away, so I can't check for authenticity. If anything pops up I will update that info, however, I am confident that it will be uneventful and that it is a solid buy.

My next purchase for personal use will be the iTronics ITB-100HD, however, my DVR 027 720p will have to last me till the new year.

Hope the return situation works out for you Bork.

Hi,
I've bought a GS5000 from EBDeal in sep.2012. The received GS5000 is a poor quality blue menu GS1000, and on the back of this, some screws were missing from the top of the housing. I did the reclamation and I asked back my money. I sent back the camera. I received no answer to my mails anymore. After 7 weeks, I received back the camera not the money. The screws are OK now.
! I do not recommend this seller !
