Electric vehicle and parking mode with timer cut off

I recently got a new electric vehicle, the GAC Aion V. I had the dashcam hardwired by an installer, and he said that it's hardwired to the fuse box.

I noticed that the parking mode turns on after 5 minutes which is all good, but the dashcam does not turn off after the set timer. Whether it's 10 hours, 4 hours, or even 1 hour, the camera just doesn't turn off but stays on parking mode until I drive off.

I've tried firmwares 1.006 to 1.009, formatted SD card, left the camera turned off for hours then turn on again, the cut off timer just doesn't work.

The EV accessory mode option is also turned on. I found that if it's off, the camera stays in normal recording the entire time even then the car is off.

Is this the way it is for EVs? I was hoping the timer cut off will work, considering they even put an extra setting for the EV accessory mode.

I'm sorry you're having problems with your Elite 10's parking mode feature.

You stated your Elite 10 is getting its power from a hardwire connection to your vehicle's fuse box. The connection to the vehicle's fuse box should be using the BlackVue 3-wire power cable provided with the Elite 10. If it's properly wired into the vehicle's fuse box [constant power, accessory/switched power, and ground to the vehicle's body], there should be zero need to use the "EV Accessory Power" setting. That's assuming the 3-wire power cable's accessory power wire is connected to an accessory/switched fuse socket with power that turns off when the vehicle is turned off.

The "EV Accessory Power" setting can be used when the dash camera is powered by cigarette lighter socket power cable or a the BlackVue 12V USB-C cable power cable. When the "EV Accessory Power" feature is enabled, the dash camera enters into parking mode after the vehicle is stationary for 5-minutes and exit parking mode when the vehicle begins driving. This feature was added to give the Elite 8/9/10 dash cameras the same G-sensor based parking mode functionality the older BlackVue cameras had.

You stated the Elite 10 stays in normal recording mode when the "EV Accessory Power" feature is disabled. That suggests that the 3-wire hardwire cable's accessory wire might not be connected to an accessory/switched power fuse box fuse socket. That might also be why the "Timer Cut-off" feature might not be working as expected. I would expect the "Time Cut-off" feature to work for Time-Lapse or Motion Detection parking modes no matter how the Elite 10 decided to enter parking mode.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure if the installer wired the ACC properly. I've read that my specific vehicle does not have good documentation, so I haven't seen people sharing that they have hardwired their system properly. I'll see if he can tell me what he did with the wiring.

I do have an ICE vehicle with parking mode working, which is why I'm thinking it could be the wiring, but I also thought this is an EV and could work differently, especially if all the fuses don't have accessory mode.

I would have hoped the timer cutoff can work even with the ACC wired to a constant power. It's a matter of having a timer to turn off the camera after a set time, regardless of how it's wired (2-wire, 3-wire, cig outlet, USB outlet)
