Hi All,

It's been a long time since I have posted because my Thinkware F770 seemed to be going along nicely until recently, and while I know it is getting passed its sell by date it did what I wanted it to do without any problems until this week.

Every 2, 3, or even 4 months I have been going to the UK dealers website and downloading the UK Speed Cam Data without any problems but that has now changed, the link to the F Range no longer works and the model has been deleted from the download page, although after checking, the European and USA dealers are still providing Speed Camera Updates for this model.

I am considering trying the European download to see if that works but I am not sure if the UK speed camera data are on that download, any advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards
James.

Hi James,

Please follow the steps below to update your F770 using UK Speed Camera data dated Aug 13, 2026

Instructions

  1. Download the latest Speed Cam Data file attached at this link https://thinkware.com/global/support/download/F770
    • The file name should resemble smartguidepoint.dx2
  2. Plug your MicroSD card into your computer.
  3. Copy the “Smartguidepoint.dx2” file onto the driveinfo folder. If the driveinfo folder doesn’t exist in the root directory of your MicroSD card, please create one.
    • The file patch should resemble [SD_ROOT]:/driveinfo/smartguidepoint.dx2
  4. Insert the MicroSD card into the dash cam unit.
  5. The device will start recording and operate with the latest Speed Cam Data

Thank You, I was able to download the UK Speed Cam Data file with the link you provided, I normally use the UK dealers webpage and just tried again and it doesn't work.

Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
James.
