F800 PRO - Settings

I operate with two SD cards, which are swapped out from time to time so that I can view the video on the Thinkware desktop application. When running the desktop application, there is the facility to amend the various settings of the system. Am I assuming correctly that both SD cards must have the same settings applied to maintain my desired settings? What I'm saying, is, are the F800 Pro settings held on the SD card, rather than being embedded into the dashcam itself?

I would think the settings on the SD card are used otherwise having the capability to update the settings with the PC viewer software would be pointless.
