the trouble with the dvr not recording when hooked to the car charger cord is the car charger itself.
mine wouldn't record it would just show mass storage screen,what solved the problem was using my Garmin gps 12 volt car charger cord.it will work using it for some reason.hope this helps anyone that's having a mass storage problem.

you had the wrong cable, there's a different type used on these, not too common these days but still worth a mention, thanks for sharing, it may help someone else

his is not a true dod f900lhd i have,i was just about to throw it in the garbage,and i tried my gps cable and it worked so im glad i dident throw it away.the cable they sent with the dvr must have bin the wrong one.there must be some ware you can git the wright cable online.well thanks for getting back to me.take care.
