Interesting! Something like this was rumored to be in the works by Raymond, didn't know something was out already. Hopefully a better WDR version is in the works. The Suction cup mount is nice though. (for those that need/want it for rentals) AVI and 24 FPS sucks.

"Night Vision: N/A "

It's too bad it doesn't have WDR like the:

Looks okay for it's low price, it will be interesting to read what buyers think of it, ie. how it performs taking into consideration it's very cheap price.

As JazJon says.. The suction mount may come in handy for some people.

LOL my thoughts exactly, I woudl much prefer the adhesive mount... I guess you could always buy this then fix your own adhesive on it, not sure how easy it would be.

Also motion jpeg instead of x264 :(

looks like something a crazy guy came up with after a night of drinking.

it defeats the whole purpose of having a tiny 0801 camera.

Years ago, I had a Casio digital camera that captured video in motion jpeg file format.

It drove me bananas and I returned the camera after a few months.

As Jokiin said in the G1W thread:

"The 96650 is currently their top end chipset and really the only decent one they have, the others are all sub standard, they are working in a new one but I think some of what they intend to do is more about marketing than about anything else, some questionable ideas"

This factory really needs to use the top end (Novatek) chipset in the size of the mini 0801 if they want to impress anyone. The AVI & 24FPS is pretty lame here. I'm still curious to see some sample videos though.

They only make the chip, its up to the factories/solution companies what they do with them

Can fit in a small chassis (eg Mobius) but heat is an issue, the chipset has decent video but the functionality is still limited, its a value proposition though not about features

I thought by now even the low end processors would be good enough to record in h264. Guess not...

Yes there is this model on market which copied Mini 0801 housing. I saw this model on the Global Source Fair today. In fact, it is base on Novatek 96220 chip.

there are three Novatek Micro Chip available on market: NT96650, NT96632, NT96220, here are the basic differences:
NT96650: support fullHD 1080P 30fps, AVI format H.264 compression, support WDR(HDR), support GPS;
NT96632: support HD720P 30fps, (1080P 25fps interpolation), AVI format H.264, NO WDR, most NO GPS;
NT96220: support HD720P 30fps, (1080P 25fps interpolation), AVI for mat M-JPEG (NOT H.264, double file size), NO WDR, NO GPS

I am sure it is not based on NTK96650 chip. Foxoffer also have this in stock.
