The GT880S I have here really does suffer terribly from focus drift.

It's not even that warm in the UK at the moment, less than 20C today but I think these show it off nicely.

To be honest it never actually seems to drift in focus!!

As I understand from test results and time stamp, the first picture is the later one and second is the earlier. Within 2h 20min focus shifted.
Was dashcam constantly working / recording, or in parking mode ( motion detection rec. ), or was not powered on and just was "baking" under sun and thats the result after 2h we can see from pictures ?
 
It was turned off mate although parking guard was active where it runs on battery power and turns on if anything triggers the g sensor, temperatures were around 17 degrees and not really any direct sunlight.

It's kind of that bad I'd hope this one is faulty!

I don't remember the GT680 ever having those problems - they've played with the codec as well so it's not as good quality wise as those were either.
 
@Sunny 's first cam was the definition of focus drift :) Had two of them myself, same story. Yours has it a lot less, almost acceptable.
