haven't seen it in the 750 before but earlier models were a problem for this, something in an adhesive they used that was off gassing after a period of time and fogging up the inside of the lens, it's a 10 minute fix once it's pulled down
Yeah if you can get at it, then unscrewing the lens + its base / mount will be optimal, then you dont have to worry about focus shifting as the base / mount will screw back against the PCB in the exact same place.
that's just a cover on the back to shield the EMI, you can remove that then unscrew the lens base from the PCB, or you can unscrew the lens but you will need refocus if you do it that way
