Frame drops on the latest firmware

I read in reviews that the frame skipping issue has been fixed in the latest firmware. I received the device, updated it over the air (when checking for updates, it now says that there is no newer firmware), but there are noticeable frame skips in the video recording (you can watch the video at the link). Transcend High Endurance 256 GB class 10 UHS-I U3 memory card, formatted after installation in the recorder.

At the moment, our app is under maintenance, so OTA firmware updates are temporarily disabled.
Could you please let us know the exact firmware version currently installed on your device? If it is not S1PM_VT-EEK241, we recommend downloading the latest firmware directly from our website and updating the camera using the memory card:

I ran some additional checks. If HDR mode is not enabled, there is no frame skipping. If it is enabled, there is frame skipping.

The frame numbers between which the frame disappears (this is clearly visible in the columns on the left side of the video, namely by the distance they shift between frames - between the specified frames, the column shifts twice as much as between the subsequent regular frames). There are many drops, I will indicate a few from the beginning of the video:

61 - 62, 117 - 118, 171 - 172 and so on.

Frame drops are visible even during normal playback - look closely at the columns on the left - they periodically jerk at the moment of a frame drop.

Please take a closer look. I took frames from video numbers 60, 61, 62, and 63, i.e. four frames in a row, and superimposed them on top of each other, setting transparency. In this composite photo, you can clearly see that there is a frame gap — the distance between the posts on the left side of the video in the adjacent frames has a clear gap — I marked this area in red in the second image. Such gaps occur throughout the video. In my previous message, I indicated between which frames they occur. And when watching, you can clearly see how there is a jerk approximately every second if you look at smoothly moving objects.

After review with our technical team, this behavior is related to HDR ghosting, rather than actual dropped frames. HDR multi-exposure processing can introduce visible motion offsets, which may appear as gaps when frames are overlaid and can look like periodic jerks during playback.
This effect can also appear more noticeable in certain media players. You may want to compare playback using Vantrue Player or PotPlayer.

We’re sorry for the confusion. What you’re seeing is actually due to variable frame timing. Between some frames, the intervals are slightly inconsistent because the system timer can’t perfectly match the video frame rate. This causes a few milliseconds of difference between frames. We’re working on a fix and will keep you updated.
