Thank you, just bought hardwire kits. Do they automatically go into park mode once I switch the car off?Yes, you will need one kit per camera. If you are having them turn on only when the car turns on (as in not worrying about parking mode) then the cheapest way is to buy 2x female cigarette lighter plugs and a fuse tap.
Can ask for your advice, I’m having connecting my hardwire connection. Not a worry.
Yes, over-sharpened is certainly right.
You could be right that it may be a little different for the newer Mini3, I'm unsure. I only have the original which has the micro-usb socket on the mount.
One thing that I did notice was that if you use the standard, accessory-switched power with this camera the app will display a time-based cut-off setting for parking mode. Once you switch to the 3-wire hardwire kit the app will display voltage cut-off only.
I’ll check it out and try and change it. Do I need to connect the yellow cable or is red sufficient? The fuse I chose is ignition linked which is ok for my needs. How certain are you that the earth is a good earth? Have a test light handy?
Only tried its with the ignition on position but not with the engine fully running. Also, rear wiper circuit is likely an ignition switched circuit, not accessory, so you are testing it with the car running or at least in the ON position?
Thank you, all working fine now! I needed to connect both cables. Now the problem is the rear camera. I need to find another set of fuses. Do you think 3.5mm splitter would work to power two camera from the same fuses and hardwire?I did, yes. For parking mode to function properly you must do this.
