G1W-C from gearbest in orange box - how to check authenticity?

I have just received it and can't find the G1W-C written on and I was expecting a blue box. Can someone help me figure out if it is genuine and that it has a cap and not a battery (would prefer not to open it unless necessary)

And finally, the manual is well written and unfortunately no hilarious engrish... was looking forward to a quick chuckle.

Turn it on without a power source. If it stays on for more than a minute or two it probably has a battery as capacitors can't store enough to run it for more than enough time to do a safe save of the last file.
