Garmin 55 WIFI

To confirm, with the Garmin 55, the WIFI must be initially accessed via the camera (sharing), then you can connect to it, right?
Whereas the likes of BlackVue and Thinkwave have 'true' WIFI connections, right?

Merely making sure I under how it works.
Maybe I will do a post to get statistics on how others obtain their videos from the camera...
 
Honestly, it's easier for me just to view the files on my computer. Either through the camera as an external drive or by simply inserting the card in the adapter and then in the computer's card reader.
 
I usually just take the card out. Wi-Fi is too slow for transfering files. Remember, one minute at 1440p is about 150MB.
 
I agree - the WiFi is pretty useless for viewing recordings.
