Gearbest.com Dome G90 Ambarella A7LA70 review and comparison against A7LA30

There was an issue with the earlier lens assemblies deforming under hot conditions, but this was fixed in later G90's.
I've never had a prompt to recover a file on my G90
Sound like you have a duff battery :(

Full charge doesn't even last few minutes.
If I drive short distance, the last file doesn't save and when I restart the car, it prompts to recover that file and I have to press button to yes or no otherwise it just gets stuck in that prompt and doesn't record current drive.
It doesn't happen too often but has happened few times so if it happens in the rear window, I have to find a spot to park, get out of the car, get in the car from rear door and press yes or not.
That's bad. Why do I have to make a selection to recover video? It should do that automatically as it should have recorded and saved file properly in the first place.
That's a bug but Dome doesn't seem to be interested in doing any work on them.

Maybe you don't drive short distance and it has enough charge remaining.

It's probably not an prompt you should see very often, hence you have to interact with it.
The battery should allow the camera to run for about 5 minutes, but as long as there's enough power for it to shut down in a controlled manner it should be fine.
Even a short trip should give enough time for the battery to fully recharge again.

The only reason I don't want G90 on the rear window is sometimes it prompts to recover file from last run that it could not save properly because battery ran out.
why don't you try changing it ? 2-3-4$ on Aliexpress (free shipping)

1st need to find that fits.
2nd that also may go bad soon.
3rd don't want to open it up if I don't have to.

Most of these cheap Chinese batteries only last 5 minutes.
I've found buying branded camera batteries and removing the housings a good way of obtaining quality cells :D

true, but from you wrote, there is a problem.
I don't know the dimensions of the battery, even though I had to open the camera focalise the lenses. I took several photos and I'll check maybe I can figure out the dimensions of the battery. If the work is clean, then you shouldn't let any trace of opening (excepting for the warranty stamp).

I saved this in my Favourites on Aliexpress. I like the title Special explosion models 3.7V lithium polymer battery :D
You'll also find some physical dimensions, which may help to choose the correct battery.

surely thing, but it also better than being annoyed everyday with data corruption.

Newbie question: How do you grab a single frame from a video in Registrator Viewer then post it as if it is a still photo? Thanks

Easy.
pause and press Alt+S.

Opening up the G90 is easy (just a couple of screws) and many people have carried this out without causing any damage.
There is enough information and images of the G90's internals to calculate the dimensions of the battery.
You may want to increase the capacity of the battery so you can run it for a reasonable time without external power.

...or use VLC Media Player :)

One problem I want to mention on G90 is the charging from mount to the camera.
I made sure it clicks on the mount but it still needs some pressure to get power to the camera so I don't use mount's port as it's not reliable and I have missed footage when the mount's contacts were not touching.
I use camera's port and no issue on that.

I had Lukas LK-7950WD, G90 7S and Rexing F9 side-by-side last week when it was 84 degrees.
After driving 1/2 hour, G90 was the hottest followed by Lukas and F9 was just slightly warm.
G90 was so hot on the front plate next to lens that it was almost uncomfortable to touch.
Hasn't failed yet but there are days hitting 100 degrees in summer.

Spring time is here... grasses are green and trees blossoming...

Going to work in the morning:

Oh and prairie dogs almost running under my car. ;)
Sadly I see few of them already plastered on the road here and there.

Picture perfect.. Clear sky, clean air, sprawling greeneries, colorful leaves, and a great dashcam to capture the moment.. Thanks for sharing Sunny.. I was fortunate to spend a 2 days business trip in Denver about 6 years ago, and i come to love your state..

Most trees still don't have leaves.
I'll post same route after few months.

Here's from last year fall using G90 A70LA30:

Watch in HD. Great colors, especially after 1:10...

lovely clear images, I'm impressed with mine, more so than the 0806 I have just sold off (and that was a good 0806!)

Only in Colorado, yesterday was nice spring weather and today snowing...
Tested G90 @ 1080p 60fps.
VBR increased from 18.5mbps for 2560*1080p 30fps to 20.5mbps for 1980*1080p 60fps.
