Hi,

Replacing car with a 512GW and a rear camera.

One Halfords which can't fit until 25th - said just remove the rear two cameras and the fitting kit will do the rest.

The other Halfords who can do it this week said that I would need to purchase a new rear camera unless I can remove the cable from front to rear, which I think will be impossible.

Who is right? As obviously there is a £50 difference between them - £50 as opposed to £100.

Any advice - cars are being swapped tomorrow - I didn't get a lot of warning.

I also noticed on the Halfords website that they are discontinuing the rear camera- so is this being replaced? So if so, maybe wait and not get it fitted?

Search Nextbase CES2019.

In my new car I used my NB cam with the cigarette lighter power scource for the first year so as not to negate any warrantee issues.
I needn't have bothered, it was a Golf and ran faultlessly.

After the 12months I hardwired the cam myself using online video and posts for guidance plus a set of BOJO pro trimmers tools from flebay.
Quite simple to remove the panels, route the cables and connect the power with NB kit.

I wouldnt allow any Halfords plier rider anywhere near a new car of mine.

(New car as in paid in full with my money)
