Okay, it happens to many of us, our windshield gets hit by a rock in the winter, and needs to be replaced? What do you guys use to re-attach the dash camera?

It's really no different than installing a brand new dash cam. You just need to replace the old VHB adhesive with a spare provided by the manufacturer or some 3M VHB tape you provide on your own.
I especially like the two inch wide VHB tape from Scotch (3M) as it is wide enough to cover pretty much any dash cam mounting plate with a single piece. Before this became available I would use two narrower strips side by side for remounting dash cams.

EXCELLENT! Thanks for that.

You're welcome!

Make sure to thoroughly remove ALL the old tape from your camera mount and clean it with isopropyl alcohol before applying the new tape. Also, make sure you carefully clean the windshield glass with alcohol as well before mounting the camera.
Proper cleaning of all surfaces will ensure secure adhesion.

Most of the better cam sellers and manufacturers will mail you a free sticky-pad or two in case of accident. It's a cheap and very effective form of advertising for them as well as being a very nice gesture
