GPS not working after firmware upgrade

Hi all,

I upgraded my BlackVue DR550GW-2CH firmware yesterday to version v1.019E of 2013/11/27.

The firmware upgrade went well, and fixed the timezone issues (time was always 1 hour off), but since the upgrade I haven't seen my GPS light come on, nor does the BlackVue record the speed / GPS location. And I've been driving for roughly 45mins two times today.

Now, I should say that even before the upgrade it sometimes took a long time for the GPS to get a signal, but never this long. I also have a TomTom satnav in the car which does not have any issue getting GPS. So I don't think the front window or such is blocking the GPS signal or something like that.

Any suggestions on how to restore and/or improve the GPS function?

Reinstall the firmware. Try putting the camera down on the dash where the Tomtom is and see if it locks on faster (if you get it going).

Some screens have a band in top centre that prevents GPS signals getting through
