Hands on Mini 0805 Ambarella A7LA50

Is there some hint for no GPS locking. In menu GPS is set to ON but icon on screen shows there is no GPS signal.
...
Does your windscreen have a heater element or metallic coating that may be blocking the GPS signal?

Maybe you could try it outside the car?

There is no heater and I am not sure about metal coating. Gps mount is already glued to windsheald. I'll try to detach it later.

If it has never connected then it could take 20 minutes to find the satellites, once connected it should take 2 seconds the next time.

If you have given it half an hour and it still isn't connected then I think it is worth detaching it, try heating it up a bit first with a hairdryer to soften the glue and then remove it very slowly, it should come off fairly easily once you have enough force on it, don't overdo the heat though or you might destroy the glass!

Normally these GPS receivers are very good, but you definitely have a missing signal.

Just received my 0805. GPS shows I'm in China, is it fixable?

QtPlayer and RegistratorViewer.

Moving, track follows my actual driving. And for some videos it is not China but middle of the ocean.

Maybe you have your viewer software set up wrong?

Have a look at the files in the GPS folder - does the latitude and longitude match your position or is it wrong?

Mine coordinates are something like 43 37.0425,079 37.0564,W

In Registrator Viewer, try the menu View/Fix Coordinates/Reflect X.

I can't work out why you would need to use that, unless you have already set it wrong... Ahh, Canada is a big place!

I definitely never touched it. Could it still be a firmware issue? Version 20141114 v1.0.

I don't know, I don't think you should have the '-' in front of the "-07937.1352,W" in the GPS log, but I'm not an expert on GPS formats so I'm not sure what it means.

Well, time to upgrade fw I guess. Should I put both .bin and .elf on the card?

If you have a firmware.bin then that is all that is needed, just put it in the root folder, no need to delete anything or reformat. You may need to insert the card after powering on the camera, then it will ask if you want to upgrade.

Just make sure you have an 0805 firmware if you have an 0805 and that you have an 0805 if you use an 0805 firmware!

Updated to 20141204, issue seems to be solved.

BTW How do I set the time? Just time zone and the time itself will be picked via GPS?

You need to include the daylight savings time offset when you set the timezone - not a problem this time of year.

No need to set the actual clock if you have a GPS signal.

My problem is result of a metalized coat on windshield. GPS signal was locked today but gps location does not corespond to real location. It bounce all over the place due to poor signal. I installed GPS signal meter app on my phone and when put the phone against windshield there is a significant signal drop. So I will not be able to use this feature.
