Hardwire kit for A810

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some technical advice on a hardware kit "Frankenstein" project. I currently have a 70mai A800S (Micro-USB) powered by the UP02 kit. I'm highly motivated to upgrade to the UP06 Adjustable Hardwire Kit because of its physical switch for Low Voltage Protection. Being able to set it to 12.4V is a huge win for my battery health compared to the fixed 11.4V on the UP02. Both kits output 5V/2.4A, but the UP06 ends in USB-C while the A800S needs Micro-USB.
I’m considering two ways to "swap" the connectors and wanted to get your take. I want to open both the UP02 and UP06 and solder the Micro-USB cable from the UP02 directly onto the UP06 board. Alternatively, I could cut the output cables a few inches above the modules and splice the UP02 tail onto the UP06 output.

Since the UP06 is quite new and there aren't many teardowns yet, I’d love your expert opinion on the following:
1). Most 70mai kits (like the UP02) use a simple 5V high/low signal on the 3rd wire to trigger parking mode. Do you think 70mai changed this to a digital handshake for the UP06 (since it targets newer cams), or is it likely still just a basic voltage trigger?
2). If I were to cut the USB-C cable and splice/solder a Micro-USB cable (connecting VCC, GND, and the "Signal"), is there any technical reason the A800S wouldn't recognize the transition?
3). Based on the UP02/03 architecture, do you expect the UP06 output to be a standard 3-wire (Red/Black/Yellow) inside?

I realize I'd be the "guinea pig" for this, but before I buy the UP06 and potentially brick it, I wanted to see if anyone sees a "smoking gun" why this wouldn't work.

The UP02, UP03, UP06, and OBD2 hardware kits all operate on the same principle: they supply power through the VCC and GND wires, and the vehicle’s ignition status via the ACC wire. Both the VCC and ACC lines carry 5V power.

You can cut the tail from the UP02 kit and solder its wires to the corresponding wires on the UP06 kit. However, do not discard the Type‑C connector from the UP06 kit, as you may need it again if you upgrade to a newer 70mai dashcam.
Unlike the standard micro‑USB connector - where 70mai uses the common ID/Signal pin for the ACC wire - the Type‑C connector is different. 70mai assigns the rarely used A08 pin for ACC, which makes it difficult to find a compatible Type‑C connector, even if you attempt self‑soldering.

I actually initially considered using a Blackvue Power Magic Pro for this. However, since they were discontinued, the prices on the secondary market have become completely unreasonable. Modifying the UP06 feels like a much smarter move. Not only is it more cost-effective, but having the real-time battery voltage displayed on the screen is kind of a bonus.
