I had my B1W hardwired to always on in my previous car and it worked well. I've just tried to move it across to my new car and I do the whole fuse tap thing and the camera comes on for maybe 10-15 seconds then turns off. I've tried to tap various "always on" fuses and it's the same. Am I missing something?

Battery level on new car?
Side button on hardwire kit (i.e. the one that cuts the power on certain battery level) moved by mistake?
Can't think on something else...

Watch the battery level on new cars. Dealers rarely charge them fully. I've seen many posts on car forums where the simple task of setting up the headunit with radio station favourites and other related items, without running the engine, has flattened the new car battery.

In my case I put mine on a CTEK charge and that took quite a few hours to full.

Thanks for the replies. Tried again last night, turns out I didn’t ground it properly. I thought I had because the camera was turning on but apparently there’s a backup internal battery on the camera that will make it last around 10 seconds.
