I just ordered the M3, and I'm waiting for it to come in. AFAIK, it should run off of 5V right? Has anyone used a 12v->5v converter on the marcus 1/3? I can just cut off the plug part of the cable and connect the live end to the converter for a nice clean install.

Or should I go for a lighter socket and keep the plug part on? I have enough space under my steering wheel to hold a socket inside the housing.

I know for sure the socket will work, but not entirely sure about how the converter will hold up.

Oh snap, I totally overlooked the fact fact that the camera doesn't have a battery... (It doesn't right?)

I think only the old TF1 or another older model had a battery.
EDIT according to a quick glance at Vico's site it was the TF1 and it use the battery for some kind of temporary parking feature.
