So, I've got a 2011 Honda Civic LX and am interested in getting two dashcams, one front facing on the windshield and one rear facing affixed on the back window. My question is how would I power the rear one? I'm guessing I need to splice into a switched only hot and find the ground lug in the trunk, right? Which of the vehicle lights on usually switched based? Anyone has experience on DIY guidance?

Some cars have a 12V jack in the trunk. If you don't, you will probably have to run wires from the back of the car to the fuse box.

The easiest option for you would be to purchase a 2-channel system. Then only the front camera has to be powered, the rear camera is powered through the video cable from the front camera.
