Hello all,

I'm very interested in hardwiring a SG9665GC. However, I don't have any electronics experience at all. I did some research and found out that you push the wires along the edge of the car window and plug it into the fusebox (a lot of the videos use a "piggyback" onto another fuse). And then you put the ground onto a hexagon looking thing. Seems like I can do that.

But all of the fuses on my car have different "fuse ratings". I don't want to **** up anything. I am using a Hyundai Elantra 2012. I linked the parts of the manual showing the fuses. If I were to use a SG9665GC, which one of these should I plug it into? Would something like thishttps://www.amazon.com/gp/B00MH4ZVHObe sufficient to allow me to hardwire?

So tools I would have:

I only want the cam on when I turn on the car.

Fuses:

You'll also need an add-a-fuse to piggyback on the fuse you select (Like this, but make sure it's the same fuse style https://www.amazon.com/gp/B001QRSBW0)

Was your intention to only power the cam while the vehicle is running? Of the fuses you have listed, the spares are ideal - but if they get power all the time (and you only want to power the cam when the vehicle is running), then that wont work. I have a Kia, and all my spares are powered at all times.

Ideally, you want to find a non-critical circuit to piggy back off of, and all the ones shown here I wouldn't mess with. I'd pick the ones for the cigarette power adapters and piggy back off those.

Ahh, missed that you said you only want it to come on with the car. You can try a spare (better yet test it with a test light or multimeter) to see if it is hot at all times or not. If it is hot, keep looking for a non-critical system fuse that is only hot with ignition.

If your Hyundai uses low profile fuses like my Kia, then an add-a-fuse like this is what you want:
