Hi,
Not sure where to post this but seeing as the Mondeo MK4 (UK, often referred to as a MK3 elsewhere) is a pretty common car I thought this would be useful.
Generally, hard wiring something usually requires access to a switched live, a permanent live and a ground. Most commonly, these can be found near the stereo however the Mondeo doesn't have a switched live stereo.
Using a multimeter I was able to work out which fuses are permanent live, which go off after 15 minutes and which circuits go off with the ignition. I then connected to the fuses most suited to my dash cam as per the attached image. On my car, fuse 5 was not used but is a switched live. Fuse 6 is a permanent live. For the ground, I attached to a metallic part of the dashboard.
