Has anyone ever purchased SquareTrade warranty for dash cams?

For dash cams costing $100 or above(such as my Mini 0801),
a 3-year SquareTrade warranty with accident/handling/spill
protection is only about $21. (after the usual 30% off code)

For dash cams under $99, it's only $16 for the same 3-year
protection.

Does anybody think it's worth it? I emailed SquareTrade and
got confirmation that dash cams can be covered, just like
regular digital cameras/camcorders. Seems pretty cheap
to protect dash cams(which are not know for build-quality
from no-name Chinese factories)

That is a very old thread from 2006. I had completely forgotten about. I was actually one of the people who replied to that thread back in 2007. :D

SquareTrade now handles claims in-house. I have 11 items covered under their warranty. Only 3 has
ever needed to be repaired. In all three cases, they ended up replacing the unite with like-new
refurbished units, which turned out better than my defective products. One of them was a
super long-range cordless that was even allowed to be sold in the US/Canada market.
(the phone allowed me to use my landline almost 2.3 miles away from my house) SquareTrade
told me they couldn't replace it, so I got money back instead... the same amount that I paid
originally for the phone.

However, I do not have any idea how they would handle dash cams, which are all from no-name companies.
