Has anyone experienced the front and rear cameras not syncing?

Hi all,

I've been working with Vantrue (through their official e-commerce account on Lazada) and the diagnosis is that my rear camera is defective, so they are sending me a replacement.

But it's the first time I've seen this kind of issues with any dash cam, so I thought I'd check if others have experienced it as well.

I've had this issue for a while now, but didn't notice it until recently when I was looking through the clips and started noticing there were big chunks of clips that were missing. It looks to me like most of the time the front and cabin cams are synced but there are times when they start to be out of sync.

Surprisingly, the front and cabin cam also appeared to be out of sync, although this is much less frequent and the out of sync isn't so large.

A few things can happen once the out of sync starts:
1) The system manage to bring things back into sync and the cameras continue to work as though nothing happens.
2) The system fails to bring the cameras back in sync and loses a few seconds of all footage on all cams for "some time". This duration can be from 2-3 seconds to over a minute.
3) The system fails to bring the cameras back in sync and the rear camera stops recording altogether. Sometimes, it come back on line while others, it just stays off until the engine is off & the cameras are also turned off.

I'm using all original equipment including the main unit to rear camera cables.

Through working with Vantrue, they provided the latest firmware:
Front cam     EEK141 --> EFA151
Cabin cam     EEC071
Rear cam    EEE281—> EEL301
They didn't resolve the issues so Vantrue things that it's the rear camera being defective and are sending me a replacement.

Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this issue?

I have lately, with a 70mai system, the 3 minute files was somehow skewed with like 40 seconds or so.

This is fixable in firmware.

Thanks. I've apparently got the latest firmware from Vantrue already so Vantrue thinks it's a hardware defect. Fingers crossed that the replacement will work!

Okay, just an update on this in case some of you are encountering the same issues . My car is an MG 3 Hybrid+ with an apparent dedicated USB port right next to the ADAS unit (image attached)

This apparently is unable to provide steady power to 3 dash cams (4K Front, 1080p Cabin and 2K Rear). It seems fine when powering, just 2 dash cams housed in the main unit ((4K Front, 1080p Cabin) but cannot seem to provide stable power when we extend to three cameras, resulting in blackout and/or rear camera being "detached".

This problem appears to be solved once the cigarette lighter is used to power the cameras instead.

Glad you resolved this! By far, the most common cause of problems that people report is the result of using a 3rd party power supply instead of the power supply that came with the camera.
