Have the mid-end tier dashcams gotten more expensive?

I bought a dashcam a couple years ago around the $230 mark, I'm about to buy one as a christmas present but noticed the brands I used to look at had the next version up but is probably sitting around the $350 mark.

Now I get if they're a higher quality version put out at the same time that it'll be more expensive but say the dashcam was a v5 that came out in 2015 for $230, the v6 would be out in 2016 for $350, would you expect it to jump up that high? Especially if the v5 is not available anymore.

Everything costs more these days including dashcams but you get better images, especially at night, with most cams. So all things considered I'd say the value versus the time worked for the money is about the same and you're getting a better cam in the deal. Of course there will be exceptions. The biggest change is the budget cams which cost similar but are a lot better now.
