A lot of people make their own headrest mounts from PVC pipe, U bolts, etc. Well I've been meaning to try an alternative and finally got around to it today. Fry's sells aluminum beams with holes spaced 1cm apart meant for building robots. Some pieces have 6-32 screw holes. I got a pack of 2 7.7" beams and a servo horn threaded 6-32 for $12 total, and some 1.25" 6/32 screws and wing nuts from Lowes. For gripping the metal of the headrest posts I used Scunci brand hair ties because they're made of very grippy silicone rubber. Very simple setup and the beams clamp very well to the headrest. The tripod screw is courtesy of a GoPro adapter which bolts nicely to the servo horn. The camera has a Mobius tripod socket glued with GE silicon which I've found is surprisingly strong. Next I'm going to add some rubber washers so the camera doesn't droop or tilt

Very impressive!
I briefly experimented with a 360 degree cam mounted on the passenger headrest, using this item:

It had limited reach, but just about did what I wanted.

I gave up on the headrest mount because it vibrated too much. At certain speeds a harmonic would form and it would shake very fast so the image would be blurry
