Good afternoon to fellow dwellers in this time zone! A good day still to those of you who are not!

I stumbled across this forum while looking to buy my first dashcam, and I decided to join as the people here seem to be more involved in the practice. Anecdotally, our drivers here are inconsistent, to put it mildly, so I'd like to install a dash cam before I regret it!

I've yet to purchase a dash cam, but there are a few I'm tempted by: The Viofo A229 Plus and Viofo A229 Pro are the main contenders, but I'm not yet sure whether to bite the bullet on those models at this time. I've heard good things about the COXPAL A11T 3-channel dash cam from consumers but less from more seasoned enthusiasts.

The members of this forum have contributed a wealth of information for a variety of needs, even if one only lurks. Thanks to all of you for your insight!

The two Viofo models you are looking at seem to be fine models, i do not have any personal experience with them but others have beaten on them for a while now.

I have had a Thinkware F800 and three Viofo dashcameras. I found Viofo to be less complaining about what SDCard you use. I used multiple brands and different capacities with Viofo, and so far seems fine.
So keep that in mind too when you purchase a camera. How finicky is it with memory cards.

Indeed and thank you! Everything I've seen would seem to suggest that Viofo's products are very near the pinnacle of commercial dashcams.

Thanks for the advice!

Ultimately, I ended up going with the COXPAL A-11T (owing in large part to a 50% off discount). There have been some issues noted by members of uberpeople.net, however many seemed to have been resolved. I will certainly keep an eye out for developments from Viofo and Vantrue if/when I need to replace or upgrade beyond this initial set-up!

Indeed i test with more than 2 handful of memory cards, and if a viofo is fussy it will not like 3 of them, and 3 out of 12 is not bad.
Other fussy, you be lucky to find 3 out of all memory cards that will work
