Hiya all disclaimer, i have dyslexia, i apologise in advance for when i misstype things.

I am a long term resident of Japan, and have a lot of questions about dashcams.. hence my joining this forum. i have multiple vehicle and currently two of them have factory installed dashcams, one a toyota and one a subaru. I am looking to add a dashcam to my work truck due to all of the insanity of late. everything offered by the local shops are expensive, and a royal PITA to install and or operate due to no english instructions (install is easy enough, its the operations that i am really concerned with. hence my desire to buy something off of amazon or ebay etc. and joined to do some research.

Installing a dashcam is not terrible hard, you will find many videos on how to on youtube. Granted for a whole host of different brand cars and dashcams, but overall it is much the same.
Most problematic is probably if you have to tie into a couple of fuses for hardwire in order to allow parking guard, or at least just for a clean install / keeping dashboard 12 V socket open for other things,
