Hi

I'm wondering if there are better quality dash-cams out there above general HD quality thats available ?

I know very little about dashcams and perhaps my expectations were a little high , but after playing with my DR400-HDII and searching for days for the best firmware I only ended up with some Russian firmware that my cam will accept and the quality is below my expectations.

If anyone knows of a proven quality cam I would appreciate knowing about it, I dont care what it costs :)

Cheers

Hi Pookie,

From a video quality perspective, the BlackVue camera is pretty good. The FineVu CR-500HD probably has the best video quality right now but the BlackVue is not bad.

The BlackVue's main problem is reliability. As for expectations, perhaps they are too high.

Check out this thread on the $40,000 Red Epic-M Camera. Note that this is a Cinema Quality camera and while the picture is stunning, at certain angles it cannot read license plates.
