Also, would it be possible to add an additional mounting bracket to a basic set, as I would be using the cam in two cars?

If you are planning on the SG9665GC i think it come with 2 mounting brackets, a high one and a low one, both have been in play in my car and works fine.
I think the high one is meant for use in cars with a more vertical windscreen, but for a normal car with the slope a windscreen have both is fine.

They are only a fjew mm different.
