Has anyone tried Honeywell? Is thier stuff any good? I didn't notice any talk on this site about them.

design looks ok, only 720p which is a shame, don't like the allocated percentages for event, parking and recording, record : 50% Events: 30% : 20% Parking recording, not unique to them this idea but not my preferred way of managing files, will be interesting to see what it sells for and its performance to price ratio

Seems like they sell for around $236 on Ebay. Up to $350 in other places. Must be cautious about Ebay sales, the ones I found so far are rip offs. I.E. The specs are different than the real thing. (2 Mpix instead of 3 Mpix, no Wide dynamic range)

Here is a link to their brochure:

I like how they fit neatly above the rear view mirror and can splice into the same 12V power supply as the auto dimming mirror requiring no extra wiring. Nice and neet and unobvious. They operate down to -20 deg C. From what I've read in another chat they operate at a high bitrate and produce a pretty good picture but haven't seen evidence of it yet. They are made in S. Korea and another chat forum said that they have a good chip, very hear-say I know. Hopefully I can find some examples of performance. I do have some faith in the quality of Honeywell instrumentation from other industrial applications, I hope the quality translates into this product.

I don't think there is any rip off on ebay regarding Honewell. Official specs say 2MP and no WDR in their description.
A rip off can be on a best seller camera, but not on that Honeywell. We must also consider that many times the specs are just bad copied.

enjoy,
Mtz
