How to record a road event?

So the camera has only 1 button...Can I use it to record..for example an accident I witnessed by pressing that button? I watched some reviews and nobody said nothing abut that (only the voice command, but im don;t want to talk to a camera). I know it has a G-Sensor..should I just tap it a little harder with my finger?
Also, it is easily removable? I don't really want to leave it in the car, especially in the summer.

As far as I know a voice command is the only way to manually record or take a photo. To remove, it's unscrewing 1 mount screw. It has an enlarged plastic end but still somewhat of an effort.
