Appreciate any help on this.
My Lukas 7900 only came with an 8gb Lukas SD card.
I've just received a 128gb Class 10 SDXC , with good read and write speeds.
Please could someone explain how to change to new SD card.

Presumably I format new card, but in viewer or dashcam.?
Do I have to load firmware on to card as well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey!
This is a easy one.
Simply format the memory card with the Lukas viewer.
Don't need to load the firmware.
But save your desired settings after formatting.

Thanks that sounds simple, do I need to copy config file or other folders from old card to upgraded one?
Thanks for reply.

Nope no need to for that.
After you format in the Lukas Viewer it places all the needed files back on the card, when you save your settings

Hi Robert,

I read this conversation chain but I'm still confused - if one need just to format SD card in viewer then why to download firmware, what is the use of it?

Thanks,
Lenny.

Well, the importance of formatting a SD card in viewer is happening anytime and required when you want to update your Lukas firmware

You can visit the LUKAS Official website and go to the firmware upgrade page to check out.
http://lukashd.com/gnuboard4/bbs/board.php?bo_table=eng_firmware

Here are the steps in any of the firmware page in the Lukas Official, which in order to update the firmware, take an example of the LK9370

1. Download the attached firmware file.

2. Back up important data then format the SD card through Lukas viewer.

(Those who use 64/128GB memory cards, format through Lukas viewer or dash cam device)

3. Copy and paste unzipped all download files into the SD card.

4. Start a car engine. (To prevent power cut-off while updating)

5. Insert SD card to dash cam then turn dash cam power on.

6. LED on the left bottom of dash cam blinks and update starts. (takes about 4 minutes)

7. The update is complete.

(Normal operation starts after formatting from the device. In case of ‘memory allocation 64KB on Windows 7’ excepted)

Hope I have explained to you the relationship between the SD card formatting and firmware update
