So, Niko introduced the HP F210 a while ago with a list price of US$210.

B&H photo has the camera for US$124 with free shipping in the US, or US$135 direct from HP. The few youtube videos available show good picture quality but a poor, shaky mount. If the mount can be stabilized, could $125 be the new standard price for 1080P/WDR/GPS dash cams? Also, a $18 Square Trade warranty will extend the warranty to 3 years.

I guess I'll know in a few weeks when my units gets delivered. :D

F210 is already and "old" model in certain way ( for me personally ), but I know my "problem" is to stick my nose maybe too early into new developments ( back then ) and bring info to the public. By the time that new introduced model gets to international market, it's going to take 6-12 month as you might see from F210 model.
At the moment there are already few other new HP out there like 3-series ( F300 & F310 ).
HP is not a manufacturer, - they are using ODM with their printed logo and maybe little menu interface configurations like "HP" logo start up, but because they are a big corporation, then yes - they can do influence a price drop by ordering in huge ( bulk ) orders and getting retail price very low as you pointed out.
I think HP and many other big non-dashcam brands that using ODM, they still need to learn western market dashcam world needs, because with their design choices I dont think they will succeed for long time.
But for the local market online retail price is quite user-friendly. Just need to see how good is real life videos, because not always what you see on youtube is what is in real life.

If that thing hung any lower on the bracket it wouldn't see over the dash

This shows that HP dont have proper R&D team to research what and how really dashcam mount should be done.
At the moment it looks monstrosity and can not be used in those countries where all windshield obstruction mounted objects are banned, so they are losing those markets.
Even if this model would be the best dashcam in the world, with stock mount they have, it is no-no 4me. Of course I would solve it with DIY, but average Joe doesnt want to mess around with bracket DIY.
So, HP-people still have to learn a lot.

The problem is that you're supposed to hang it where the black dots are, but the black dots block the suction cup.

Hi I have just seen car with I think one of these at least the camera had HP on it but it had the suction mount 180 degree from position in photo (with mount reversed and camera facing windscreen) made it look at lot smaller and I would say just the bottom of camera showed under rear view mirror from inside car. If I see this again I will try to get photo of windscreen.

I've finally been able to play with this dashcam. According to a German site, it's the same hardware as the Rollei CARDVR110, Mio Mivue 388, and Park City DVR HD 710 even though they may look physically different.

It looks like whoever did HP's firmware was a complete newbie. The time automatically defaults to Taiwan even though the unit was a US market device purchased from NYC. No option to change. The 4 quadrant cross is rather useless. The compass can only display NESW and nothing in between. There's no way to easily input the location of speed cameras. Only manually adding by using a button.

The Rollei software changed the speed from MPH to KM/H but loses the WDR menu and quadrant display. It does gain the ability to set your time zone...

The Russian version is interesting. Each button press has a specific function such as dim screen, mute microphone, speedcam/direction/speed display, emergency save AND a long press does the standard 3 functions. Button 4 is always emergency record. The Park City firmware also has speed cams for the EU, Russia, and CIS, so still useless outside of the Old World.

Also, size is 3"x3", so that windshield is like a magnifying glass...
