I can't connect my camera to the pc

hi, I have a problem, when I connect the camera to the pc, it start charging but the pc does not recognise it as a mass storage. I've tried it with two diferents pc's and I put prompt and mass storage mode... the firm is 1.4.
can anybody help me?

Are you using the USB cable that came with the camera?

yes, it's the original. I've tried with another and now it works perfectly!
