Illegal Left Turn on Red Light

I guess the driver of the Mazda got tired of people making a legal right turn on red so he came up with his own interpretation of the law. The irony is about 1/8 mile down the road where he was going after making the illegal left turn is another traffic light - and we were both there at the same time waiting for it to turn green.

You can go left on red after stopping here in SC USA, but only if entering a one-way street going in that direction and you have to use only the nearest lane if there's more than one lane. I had to look that up a few weeks ago as I couldn't remember for sure.

Yeah, MI is the same when it's a one-way street but that's not the case here.
