Was wondering if I got a defective unit. My videos for the front camera is very blurry. Is there a way to adjust the focus? I'm recording at 1080p 30fps.

Will post daytime shots tomorrow. I just got the camera mounted and went out for a drive.

Looks like you left the plastic protector on the lens, that is not just out of focus, if not the plastic then there is a lot of dirt or fingerprints.

Plastic cover is definitely off. Lens and windshield are clean too.

Need screen shots of daytime footage to be able to judge focus

here are a couple of daytime pictures. Still seem blurry. No plastic cover is on. No dirt/dust on windshield

That definitely looks like an out of focus lens. The memory card would have nothing to do with this issue.

Probably the best thing you could do is to open up the camera and manually refocus. I believe there is a tear-down guide somewhere here on the forum.

wouldn't it be better to return it to Amazon? I just received the camera yesterday.

Yes, if you can do that, by all means!

I wasn't clear how long you've owned the camera so I suggested the repair assuming you were stuck with it.

Might be worth trying it in good light outside the car so that it can't be a windscreen issue, also include something close so that we can see if it is focused too close, but if it still has a problem and the lens is clean then I think the lens must be badly built, it doesn't just look out of focus to me.

from my view I don't think it is out of focus.
in the night snap there are motion blurry and light dispersion
in the day snap, it just seems like there is fingerprint on lens, because the center light dispersion is little obviously.
and the car in front of you is too far away, it is not easy to say it is out of focus.

by the way, you may try Super Fine video quality.

that was on super fine setting. I ordered another unit to see if the same problem persist.

here's a shot at a red light, so no motion. Still blurry image. Also from what you're saying, if the blurry is from motion, do you think this is acceptance image quality?

here are pics of the camera outside of the car with me holding it still. One standing next to a bench and one sitting on the bench and facing it out. I checked the lens for fingerprint and dirt, wiped it clean.
You can see from the bench in the picture, the area that is closest to the camera is most in focus. anything beyond 3 feet gets really blurry.

focus seems fine to the left and right but it's hazy in the middle, it looks more like how they look when the lens is dirty, maybe make sure there is no residue on the lens from the protective film that was on there, also maybe check outside the vehicle in case it's something on the windscreen glass, if that all checks out it may just be a faulty lens assembly

heres an image of the lens. The previous 2 images were not taken from inside the car, so the windshield of the car isn't a factor. The lens looks clean and no residue on it

can't tell anything by looking at a photo of the lens but assuming that's clean you've already ruled out the windscreen as an issue then I'd say it's time to talk to the seller and have it replaced

Looks clean enough to me, so there is obviously a problem. I'm not convinced that it is just poorly focused though, maybe a badly assembled lens, so if it is easy to return it would be best to return it. It is possible to refocus the lens if you disassemble it but that would void the warranty.
