One of my A119S (v2) cameras died and this is beyond normal dead RTC battery I usually deal with.

Dead_A119S_v2.jpgauto

It boots up with Viofo Logo, it plays the boot up sound, It beeps on key presses. It even shows the "Insert TF Card" message when it booted up without the SDCard.
It does not show up as USB device when connected to a computer.
It doesn't power off (it fades to black) when disconnected from power.
It will not update to new firmware (not surprising).

Any ideas, or it goes into the dead camera parts bin?

I would get a newer V3. It's a direct replacement in that it still uses a mini USB. The latest Viofo Mini uses a USB-C so would require a new HWK.

Such a problem was experienced by users of this model.
Resolved by flashing. You need to take a memory card for firmware up to 32GB.
Firmware here:

Firmware helped. Everything is easy and simple according to the instructions in the header. I have an A119S. Тhank you all!

Awesome! The one variable that allowed me to fix this camera is the <= 32GB card. I have tried with 128GB and that didn't work.
It looks like the camera is restored, thank you for the suggestion!

I went down the rabbit hole of disassembling the camera and removing the shield from the SoC, trying to re-flow the BGA and of course that didn't have any effect.
I got a neat photo of SoC if anyone cares:

Cancelled the order of the replacement A119V3...
